Differences in the Manga[]

Chapter 130
  • As Nagi wakes up past noon, Nagi is shown to be wearing plain pink pajamas. In the manga, she was wearing umbrella printed pajamas.
  • Nagi's outfit was slightly altered after she had gotten dressed. In this episode Nagi is shown to be wearing pink and white striped stockings. In the manga, she wore black stockings.
  • In the kitchen, Maria warns Hayate that a large stack of plates behind him where about to fall over. After having caught every plate before they hit the floor, Maria tells Hayate that she heard a "crack". He then checks his cellphone only to find it destroyed. This is not present in the manga.
  • After Nagi had told Hayate that she would go along with him to Shinjuku, Maria and Hayate then check the calendar to see if it was April fools day. In this scene, the picture on the calendar shows a Japanese couple. In the manga, the picture was a silhouette of Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece.
  • As Hayate was filling out paper work for his new cell phone, the female receptionist helping him is shown to be wearing a black woman's business suit. In the manga, the receptionist was wearing a black vest over a white shirt and a tie.
  • After having lost Hayate in the store, Nagi goes to the lost child department for help. In this scene the woman that greets Nagi is shown to be wearing a short sleeved button up shirt. In the manga, she wore a long sleeved button up shirt.
  • After having been aggravated by the three boys insults, Nagi challenges them to a duel using cards from the Hayate no Gotoku! Trading Card Game. In the manga, Nagi challenges them to a game of the Japanese trading card game LEAF FIGHT.
  • After Nagi had shown the three boys her deck, the larger boy comments on how the Hayate no Gotoku! Trading Card Game is loved by kids and adults and was becoming a national sensation, before the other two remark that what he said was obviously a commercial. In the manga, the larger boy remarks on how Nagi's card was a weak leaf fighter, while the other two note that Nagi would cry once they had defeated her.
  • Nagi's duel and victory against the three boys is not shown in the manga.
Chapter 131
  • At Rental Video V Tachibana, Wataru discusses with Saki on how to make Sakuya laugh on her birthday. He then tells Saki a bad joke, causing her to accidently overfill his coffee cup while filling it. This is not present in the manga.
    • Additionally, during this scene, Wataru is shown to be wearing a green apron. In the manga, he was shown without it.
  • While discussing with Hayate on ways that would put Maria in a funny situation, Nagi pulls out four boxes that are labeled "Sunday". In the manga, the four boxes where labeled "Hanamaru".
  • While waiting for an opportunity to jab Maria with a paper fan, Hayate notices her humming a tune before realizing that it was an insert song entitled "Aim to become King". In the manga, the tune was the opening theme "Ginga Senpuu Braiger" from Galaxy Cyclone Braiger.
  • While Maria was cleaning the windows, she notices the glass on the corner of the window was broken. In the manga, Maria just makes a comment about how dusty the windows were.
  • Having seen an opportunity to jab Maria with the paper fan, Hayate rushes towards her and accidently trips over a rug. In the manga, Hayate's foot slips on the floor.
  • Later, Nagi was telling Wataru and Isumi that jabbing people with paper fans was a basic form in comedy. Here, Isumi is shown to be wearing a pink kimono. In the manga, she was wearing a floral patterned kimono with a stole over it.
  • Nagi asks Isumi to tell a joke, but she says that she has never told a joke in her life. Nagi then tells Wataru to jab Isumi with the paper fan, but hesitates and is hit with Nagi's paper fan. This is not present in the manga.
  • Having heard their conversation from outside, Sakuya peeks into the mansion from a window and listens to Nagi, Isumi and Wataru's conversation. This is also not present in the manga.

Trivia[]

Cultural References[]

  • In the beginning of the episode, the caption "You reflect upon your lifestyle at times" is typed on screen before a gunshot is heard. This is a parody of the title sequence used for each episode of Lupin III Part II.
  • While at the Shinjuku department store, the TVs that Nagi looks at are labeled "Pony". This is a parody of Sony.
  • After having been taken to the lost child department, Nagi challenges the three boys to a duel using cards from the Hayate no Gotoku! trading card game.
  • As Nagi declares an attack with her "Hayate Ayasaki card", her opponent powers up his "Hinagiku Katsura card" by playing "Honorable Student Council President". Afterwards, his "Hinagiku Katsura card" is seen dressed similar to Utena Tenjou from the series Revolutionary Girl Utena.
  • Before finishing her turn, Nagi activates a card that powers up her "Nagi Sanzenin card". She then explains to her opponent that if she defeats his character card with hers and the top card of her deck is another character card she'd get another turn to attack. She then attacks her opponent reducing his life points to zero and then draws four character cards and proceeds to attack him for each card drawn. This scene is a parody of when Yugi had used the spell card Berserker Soul on Insector Haga in Episode 162 of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
  • As Hayate discusses Sakuya's upcoming birthday with Nagi, she is shown to be wearing a jacket with a "Punta" logo on it. This is a parody of the sportswear company Puma.
  • After Hayate had accidently embraced Maria, Nagi hits him with a hammer that heavily resembles Vita's armed device Graf Eisen from the series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's.
