Hayate no Gotoku! Cuties Episode 1 aired on April 8th 2013.

Synopsis[]

While shopping Hayate introduces himself. A cat then steals some meat he bought. Hayate trys to catch the cat but unfortunately some other cats grab his leg causing him to fall over. Later at the Violet Mansion, Hayate is cleaning as Hinagiku goes for her morning walk. Hayate makes an early morning preparation and Maria wakes up still sleepy. Hinagiku comes back and takes a bath as Maria notices how Hayate can be so popular with the girls. Hayate then makes breakfast for Chiharu, Kayura, and Ayumu. After they leave for school Nagi gets up late despite Hayate's actions to wake her when she's been trying her best to do better in life. Athena Tennousu as Alice barely stays awake. After school, Nagi attempts to play video games when they all should be studying for their final exam. Hayate continues his hard work preparing for tomorrow already then begins studying after midnight and Hinagiku comes to his room to tutor him. Hayate wakes up in the morning after just having an hour of sleep and does the same early morning routine. Unfortunately, he discovers everyone is sick except Ayumu until she fakes it. The next day, Hayate caught their cold but pretends he's fine to relieve Nagi’s worries. After breakfast as he goes to school, Ruka comes to give Hayate her album from Las Vegas since her concert has finished. By the time Hakuou Academy's final exam starts Hayate arrives all beat up due to constant errands along the way like helping Fumi to the infimary, then helping Saki about Wataru's business and Isumi exorcise some demons. He came late to the classroom and started his exam. But Yukiji started annoying him making him suppress his anger. He returns home and finds everyone has prepared dinner for him as a way of thanking him for his kindness. Maria gives him some medicine, but he didn't take it as he was going out to buy some ingredients. Moments later, Kayura grabs his leg telling him to buy some magazines and making him fall again.

Differences in the Manga[]

Chapter 303
  • After heading downstairs early in the morning, Hayate signs on duty by turning over his name plate, this is absent in the manga.
  • After cleaning the front porch of the Violet Mansion, Hayate sets out Hinagiku's running shoes before he is greeted by her while inside the mansion, where in the manga he is greeted by her as she sat foot outside the front door as she was leaving for her morning run.
    • Additionally, Hinagiku's shoes are shown to be blue and yellow running shoes, where in the manga she wore her usual converse style sneakers.
  • Hayate tries to wake Nagi up at 7:00 a.m. This is absent in the manga.
  • After finishing her breakfast, Hinagiku thanks Hayate before leaving for school as Chiharu watches on. This is omitted in this episode
  • After greeting Chiharu, Hayate prepares breakfast for both Kayura and Chiharu, where in the manga, Chiharu was originally alone with Hayate.
    • Additionally, Ayumu rushing out of the mansion as they where eating their meal is absent in the manga.
  • Before heading out to school Hayate asks Chiharu, Kayura and Ayumu if they remembered their lunches he made for them. This is absent in the manga.
  • While waiting for Nagi to wake up, Hayate studys for the final exams at Hakuou Academy. This is also absent in the manga.
  • After waking up, Athena is seen watching Maria hanging the laundry to dry whereas in the manga, Athena saw Tama talking but assumed that she was still dreaming.
  • During lunch at Hakuou, Nagi, Hinagiku, Chiharu and Kayura are shown to be enjoying Hayate's homemade lunch. This is absent in the manga.
  • After finishing dinner at the Violet Mansion, Nagi shows Chiharu a copy of Monster Hantou Portable 3, where in the manga, Chiharu was the one who originally presented it before to Nagi after coming home from school.
  • After asking Chiharu to play with her, Hayate reminds Nagi that she has exams coming up at Hakuou Academy, where in the manga, Chiharu told her that she'd play with her after finishing her homework and taking a bath.
  • Hinagiku comes back to the Violet Mansion as Nagi, Chiharu and Kayura were finishing their dinner, where in the manga Hinagiku met up with Hayate who was coming back from his part time job at Cafe Donguri.
  • After taking a bath Ayumu finds both Nagi and Chiharu playing their PFPs in the dressing room, where in the manga it was Hinagiku who found them both.
    • Additionally, Nagi and Chiharu are shown to be wearing their clothes while playing with their PFPs, while in the manga they both wore towels.
  • After falling asleep in Chiharu's room, Hayate carrys Nagi back to her room at 00:30 a.m. while in the manga it was 2:00 a.m.
  • As a thank you gesture, Hinagiku helps Hayate with his studies before going to bed. This is absent in the manga.
  • After finishing studying, Hayate goes to bed at 3:30 a.m. where originally in the manga he went to bed at 4:00 a.m.
Chapter 352
  • After preparing breakfast for the residents of the Violet Mansion, Hayate is greeted by Maria whom is sick before learning that Nagi has also gotten sick, whereas in the manga Hayate is greeted by Nagi before learning that Maria is sick.
  • Realizing that the other residents of the Violet Mansion could be sick as well, Hayate rushes upstairs to Hinagiku's room where he finds out that she too has fallen ill, whereas in the manga, Hayate is greeted by her while she was sitting on a couch in an upstairs room.
    • Additionally, Hinagiku is shown to be wearing her jogging outfit from the previous day, while in the manga she was shown to be wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and shorts.
  • Upon being greeted by Chiharu, she is shown to be along side Kayura, whereas in the manga Chiharu was by herself
  • Ayumu pretends to have gotten sick after hearing Nagi say "It must be nice that idiots don't get sick" .This is absent in the manga.
  • Hayate calling to inform Hakuou Academy that they'd be taking the day off is also absent in the manga.
  • After putting Alice to bed she is shown with her hair down, whereas in the manga she still had a ribbon in her hair.
  • While rushing out to buy medicine for everyone in the mansion, Kayura chases Hayate asking him to buy some doujinshi for her only to grab him by the legs causing him to fly out the window, whereas in the manga she took him by surprise while laying on the floor by grabbing him.
    • Additionally, Kayura is shown to be wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and capri style pants, while in the manga she is seen wearing her usual attire a tank top and a denim skirt
  • After flying out the window, it isn't shown but we are left with the impression that Hayate hits the ground before possibly being hit by a automobile, whereas in the manga it is shown that Hayate was hit by a passing truck.
  • Returning back battered and bloodied, Hayate presents Nagi with the medicine for everyone before she tells him to go to bed. This is omitted from this episode.
Chapter 353
  • After catching a cold the following day, Hayate tries to sneak some medicine before he is greeted by Maria whom is shown to be wearing her usual maid uniform, whereas in the manga she wore her summer maid uniform.
  • After reassuring Nagi that he hasn't caught her cold, Hayate puts the medicine he took out earlier in a drawer, whereas in the manga he puts it away in a cabinet.
  • Concerned for him, Maria watches a feverish Hayate serve the residents of Violet Mansion breakfast. This is omitted in this episode.
  • While leaving for school, Hayate and Nagi are greeted by Ruka who wanted to give them a copy of a DVD from her concert in Las Vegas This is absent in the manga.
  • At Hakuou Academy, Hinagiku playfully pushes Hayate on the back causing him to damage the ground as he fell down, whereas in the manga he fell on his knees.
  • While on his way to the classroom Hayate notes that the exam starts at 9:30 a.m. whereas in the manga the exam started at 9:00 a.m.
  • While on the ground in pain, Fumi notes that she ate a daifuku someone had left as an offering to Ksitigarbha, which Sharna comments is a punishiment. Her comment is absent in the manga.
    • Additionally, spirits appear to come out of Fumi's stomach, where in the manga no such thing happend.
  • After taking Fumi to the infirmary, Hayate recieves a call from Saki whom is shown to be wearing her work uniform for Wataru's store in Akihabara, whereas in the manga Saki wore her maid uniform.
    • Additionally, Hayate is shown to be using an iPhone, where in the manga he was using a different type of cell phone.
  • After his phone call with Saki, Isumi and Sakuya greet Hayate and inform him that a monster is on the loose, whereas in the manga Isumi was by herself.
  • Before the start of the test, Yukiji is shown to be wearing a white shirt with a purple shirt underneath and shorts, whereas in the manga she wore a black V-neck shirt and shorts with high heels
    • Additionally, the students in her class are shown to be wearing winter uniforms, whereas in the manga they wore summer uniforms.
  • Annoyed with Yukiji spinning her chair during the exam, Hayate snaps his pencil in half. This is absent in the manga.
  • Returning to the Violet Mansion, an exhausted Hayate remembers that he has to prepare dinner for everyone, but to his surprise he finds that everyone has prepared it for him. This is absent in the manga.
  • While rushing out to buy soy sauce, Kayura chases Hayate asking him to buy her a Shounen Sunday once again grabbing him by the legs causing him to fly out the window again. This is absent in the manga.

Trivia[]

  • In the beginning of the episode the Tanuki from inside the Kurotsubaki from CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU makes a cameo appearance inside a store window as Hayate chases after a cat that took his fish.
  • After finishing dinner, Nagi challenges Chiharu to a game of Monster Hantou Portable 3 which is a parody of the game Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
  • Nagi, Chiharu and Yukiji have been shown to be using portable gaming systems called PFP which is a parody of Sony's PSP.
  • Ruka gives Hayate a DVD featuring the same cover as her character CD Hayate no Gotoku! no Super Idol Ruka Suirenji 1st Full Album!
  • While presenting Hayate with a DVD of her concert, Ruka mentions to him that it was from the time when she preformed in Las Vegas. This is a reference to her concert in episode 12 of CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU.
    • In addition the back of the DVD cover features images of Ruka from that episode while she was performing in her concert.
  • While rushing out to buy soy sauce, Kayura grabs onto Hayate's leg asking him to buy her a Shounen Sunday, the magazine the manga Hayate no Gotoku! is serialized in.
