Continuing from the previous chapter, Ayumu continues her crusade to make Hayate wish her a happy birthday, not knowing of the preparations going on behind her back. Reading her horoscope aloud, Ayumu makes the first move, having now narrowed her birthdate down to a range of thirty days. Hayate ignores her, answering a phone. Hayate privately resolves that he must continue to hold on, at least until the end of Ayumu's shift when she will be forced to leave. Miki, Risa, and Izumi watch the battle through a window from outside the cafe. Ayumu continues the attack, attempting to corner Hayate into asking her birthday. Hayate dodges again, and Nagi breaks up the skirmish temporarily. Dejected, Ayumu heads home after her shift ends; Hayate and company decorate the cafe quickly, and, following the plan, Nagi calls Ayumu on her cell phone and instructs her to return to the cafe for something forgotten. Ayumu does takes neither the hint nor the bait, forcing a blushing Nagi to claim that she is lonely and wants a talk with Ayumu, slamming the phone down shortly after. Ayumu is stunned to find the party waiting for her back at the cafe, and hugs Nagi gratefully, much to Nagi's chagrin.
A magazine featuring Hatsune Miku can be seen below a newspaper Ayumu grabs when she tries to remind Hayate of her birthday.
