In tandem, Wataru and Ayumu discuss a similar issue, with the former criticizing his family and the latter making a bad analogy in attempt to show the merits of the same. Nagi and Chiharu suddenly embark on a gaming competition, leading Hayate and Maria to comment behind the scenes that Chiharu's presence would do Nagi good. At dinner, Chiharu further experiences the allure of renting a room with Hayate's delicious cooking. Just as she is about to go ahead with renting a room, she realizes that she has missed fifty-two calls from her parents as she glances at her phone. Nagi, reading her expression, denies her a room anyway and sends her back to her house. Chiharu returns home to find the house ablaze, the cause being her parents' ineptitude in trying to cook. Chiharu decides to move into the Violet Mansion after all.
